Amber is excellent for
vitalizing the aura. It also carries a bright and soothing energy that calms the
nerves and smoothes the disposition. It opens the crown chakra and stimulates
the intellect. It acts to purify the mind, body and spirit and by absorbing and
transmuting negative energies can help allow the body to free itself of
disorder.
Amethyst is a
multifunctional form of Quartz, used extensively for healing. It balances the energies of the intellect as it
bestows strength, invigoration, stability and peace. By directing love to the
structure of the Amethyst, the energy is increased by orders of magnitude and
returned to the region in which the Amethyst is located.
Amethyst also provides for flexibility in decision-making processes and aids in
the assimilation of new ideas. It has many metaphysical uses and can be used for
protection against unwanted psychic energies. The Amethyst is excellent for
charging visualizations with intention and the needed emotional stimulation for
manifestation.
Ametrine is a combination of
Amethyst & Citrine. Besides the properties of each of those, it has some
that are unique. It disperses negativity from the auric field and helps in its
repair by filling any openings with pure light energy. In meditation and
attunement, it helps one reach higher states of consciousness more quickly. It
assists in astral travel and protects while it helps to discern the difference
between the physical and astral worlds. Ametrine works quickly due to the high
frequency of the combination. It has also been used to stimulate oxygenation
within the body and to correct DNA imbalances.
Apatite
is used to stimulate clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience and to
facilitate the work of other stones or crystals. It can also be used for
stimulating the intellect and to balance or suppress the appetite.
Aragonite helps to alleviate
stress and anger and is often placed in the environment to absorb the
“water” from an excessively emotional person. It also enhances reliability
and can help one to maintain during periods of increased responsibility. Some
varieties of Aragonite have been used to decrease hair loss and wrinkling of the
skin.
Aqua Aura is actually Quartz enhanced with pure 24 ct.
gold, which gives the crystal an electric Aqua color. The molecules of gold adhere to the natural electric charge surrounding the quartz. It won't rub or scrape off and dynamic results are attributed to the combined properties of gold with quartz. Quartz is a "stone of power" and its natural tendency is toward harmony. Gold attracts honors and wealth and helps one overcome feelings of inferiority. Aqua Aura contains a very intense energy, which is beneficial to the aura and the chakras. It is also useful for activating other minerals that are used in healing.
A stone of courage, the
Aquamarine enhances the ability for rapid intellectual response and helps in the
assimilation of knowledge. Accelerating the intellectual processes of reason, it
aids in learning. It enhances an ability to always be prepared and is said to
guard against injury during battle. Aquamarine also helps in attuning to more
spiritual levels of awareness and provides a shielding property for the aura and
subtle bodies.
Used in meditation, Azeztulite assists in
achieving the state of “no mind. It stimulates the third eye and brings vivid
motion pictures from the future, both personal and universal. Azeztulite is of
pure and totally positive energy; it is one of the four stones found to date
that never needs cleansing. It provides an inextinguishable light that shines
for the user at all times. Azeztulite has many uses for healing and is
particularly synergistic with Moldavite, Phenacite, Tanzanite and Herkimer
Diamonds.
Metaphysically, Azurite is
recommended for the beginning collector since it is so versatile. It stimulates

Calcite stimulates the reawakening and the
recognition of those with whom one has been associated in other distinctive
lives. It is a repository stone that accumulates knowledge and assists one
during the process of divination, providing wisdom to prophetic questions.
Calcite works like a battery to restore energy and is used to activate the crown
chakra and for the alignment of the charkas, as well as to remove blockages
within the nervous and circulatory systems.
Carnelian stimulates
precision and analytical capabilities. Awakens one’s talents and improves
perception. It is also useful in dramatics and theater presentations. Protects
against envy, fear and rage and can be used to clear other stones of negativity.
Celestite emits a very
comforting and tranquilizing energy. It is multi-functional in its metaphysical
uses and a must for those seeking spiritual progress. A stone of good fortune
and the attainment of bliss, it provides freedom from worry, lightens the
disposition and brings joy into one’s life. Also great for intellectual
activities, it gives fluency in communication and enhances both artistic and
musical pursuits. Assists in clairaudience.
Chlorite is known for it’s
properties in connection with healing and can be used to reduce the perception
of pain. Quite positive in function, it cleanses the aura, eliminates anger and
hostility, dissipating the negative energy. It has further been used
successfully to rid the body of toxins and to diminish the visibility of liver
spots.
Chrysocholla
purifies the home and environment and eliminates negativity from within. It also
increases the capacity to love and eases emotional heartache. Associated with
many benefits in the area of healing, it provides insights to the emotional
cause of illness. Increases the lung capacity and is said to alleviate the
symptoms of vertigo.
Also called Dragon’s
Blood, Cinnabar brings elegance and vitality to the demeanor, boosting
assertiveness while eliminating aggression. It also promotes fluency in all
communications and enhances the persuasive abilities.
Citrine promotes optimism
and greatly enhances both creativity and intellect. Citrine also promotes a
“glow from within” and a constantly happy disposition. A staple for the
collector, it enhances understanding in relationships and is also known as
“the merchant’s stone”. Placing a Citrine in the cash box produces more
income! It is one of the few stones that never needs cleansing or clearing
because it naturally transmutes negative energy into positive.
Aside from its gemmy aesthetic value,
Danburite is a staple for the metaphysician, working to smooth and enhance the
properties of other crystals. When Danburite is placed under the pillow, it
stimulates and enhances lucid dreaming as no other stone! Also stimulates the
intellect and assists the mental processes in general. It carries a mellow and
mentally uplifting energy.
Dioptase is a stone for
“living in the moment” and provides for experiencing true joy from the
simple things in life. It is also one of the best healing stones of the ages and
is especially beneficial for stimulating the chakras with invigorating and
refreshing energy. It furthers spiritual attunement and eliminates “lack” in
the life by adjusting one’s outlook.
Fluorite discourages chaotic
growth and provides stability and balance, bringing order out of chaos. It is
excellent for understanding the intrinsic balance necessary in relationships.
Increasing concentration, it helps to see beyond illusions. Purple Fluorite is
considered a third eye stone and assists in intuitive understanding of messages
from psychic planes. Many health properties, Fluorite is excellent for warding
off colds and flu and is known for its properties of assistance to bone
disorders.
Garnet is a stone of health,
extracting negative energy from the chakras and transmuting the energy into a
beneficial state. It enhances ones internal fire, bringing the creative powers
to the state of implementation and acts with great speed due to the flash of
lightening it is said to contain. An excellent stone for the base chakra, acting
to clear and energize. Garnet has numerous uses; it’s called the stone of
commitment and it incites personal magnetism. It’s also good for erasing moods
of abandonment, bringing appreciation to the act of surrender to discontinuity,
ushering freshness into the life.
Hematite is used for memory
enhancement, original thinking and the comprehension of technical knowledge. It
has many healing properties and has been used to draw fevers and excessive heat
from the body by placing it on the forehead. It is also used to alleviate
insomnia, leg cramps and blood disorders as well as spinal misalignment.
The Herkimer Diamond is a stone of
spontaneity, assisting one to begin again this lifetime and to recognize that
whatever one is seeking lies within; all that is needed is to allow for the
actualization. It also assists in telepathic communication and can be used as an
attunement stone with a person or place. It may be programmed to store
information to be retrieved at a later time and is quite a versatile stone.
Kunzite is a stone for the
heart chakra and aligns it with the throat and third-eye charkas. In
synthesizing the energies it produces loving thoughts and loving communication.
Just holding Kunzite stimulates a feeling of peace, connecting one to the
infinite source of love and providing for purification on all levels. It
initiates an acknowledgement and external expression of self-love, romantic love
and unconditional love. It’s an excellent stone for those who are unable to
relax when expressing the emotions of the heart.
Quite powerful energetically
and metaphysically, Kyanite has been called the “tripping stone”. It is
useful for aligning all the chakras upon immediate contact and without conscious
direction. If directed by the user, it also opens the chakras and aligns the
emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual and ethereal bodies, leaving one
tranquil, poised, and balanced. A powerful aid to meditation, it also allows one
to locate and feel the resting Kundalini. It is one of the extremely rare stones
that never needs cleansing or clearing since it will not accumulate or retain
negative vibrations.
Metaphysically,
Lapis is a stone of total awareness, expanding intellectual capabilities and
promoting conscious attunement to the intuitive and psychic aspects of one’s
nature. It assists in remaining objective about the subjective. It also assists
in tuning into the creative source and has been used in gaining insight to ones
dreams by placing over the third eye. Lapis stimulates emotional, mental and
physical purity and clarity, supporting activities of advancing toward universal
wisdom. It enables one to gain access to, and explore, esoteric planetary
knowledge.
Moldavite is dark
translucent green and the only know gemstone of extraterrestrial origin. It
originates from a meteorite that fell in Czechoslovakia some 15 million years
ago. Moldavite is the “awakener” and is known for its properties to assist
one who is searching for spiritual enlightenment, acting as a powerful catalyst
to such. Even without conscious direction, it apparently puts one in touch with
the personal spirit guide, where direction is received. Moldavite also boosts
the properties of other stones and is
especially synergistic with Tanzanite, Azeztulite, Phenacite, Quartz, Celestite,
Danburite and Herkimer Diamonds.
Obsidian has long been used
for its protective properties against energy leaks of the aura. It helps to
expand and seal the aura, acting as a barrier against drifting energies that
would affect it negatively. It also prevents any penetration from those who
would attach themselves and drain one’s energy. Obsidian opens the door to
inner discovery and stimulates insight regarding the avenue leading to the
attainment of the life purpose.
Opal is quite an interesting stone and found
in a variety of forms with extensive uses. Other than for their beauty, one of
the most interesting properties of opals is that it amplifies personal traits
and characteristics so that one is provided the impetus to build upon positive
attributes while also identifying those in need of improvement. The fire within
the opal also encourages flashes of intuitive insight and Opals awaken the
psychic and mystical qualities. Can further be used to “brighten” the aura.
Petalite has some
interesting, if unusual properties. It is said to be not only a stone of
protection and bringer of good, but to also be a powerful spiritual and healing
stone. A stone of the angels, it is used to stimulate clairvoyance,
clairsentience, clairaudience and telepathic communication. It also clears
energy blocks, opens the crown chakra, sooths the aura and is further used to
facilitate the awareness of the physical signs of auras.
Phenacite facilitates deep meditation and is
believed by light workers to carry the highest vibration of any stone found to
date on the planet. The caretaker within virtually “knocks at your door”.
Phenacite is quite an expansive crystal as it stimulates and opens the third
eye. Placing the stone above the crown chakra provides a noticeable flowing
energy. It is also a gathering stone, gathering together the energies of other
stones used in healing to enhance the sum of the properties. It is particularly
synergistic with Moldavite, Azeztulite, Tanzanite and Herkimer Diamonds.
Quartz amplifies both body energy and
thoughts and is known to be a “stone of power”. The energy of quartz is
transmitted through the points, tips and edges of the crystal as they are rubbed
with the finger or held in the hand. Quartz brings the energy of the stars into
the soul and stimulates the spiritual energy centers. It is used to facilitate
speaking with and receiving information from the spiritual and otherworldly

Rose Quartz provides all the
elemental properties of Quartz and is best known for its corresponding
relationship to the heart chakra. It is used for spiritual attunement to the
energy of love. It has a soothing and calming effect and promotes loving
feelings as well as cohesion in relationships. Rose Quartz removes negativity
very gently and is recommended for those who find clear quartz too stimulating.
It is quite effective in the treatment of conditions involving the emotions.
The intense energy of Ruby
has a multitude of metaphysical uses. It acts as a protective shield on all
levels, brings economic stability and is a powerful aid in helping one to
overcome the need or expectancy to experience travails.
Sapphire
is used to rid one of unwanted thoughts. It brings lightness to the user by
opening the mind to beauty and intuition. Known as a stone of prosperity,
eliminating frustration, fulfilling desires and sustaining the gifts of life. It
tends to radiate energy without conscious direction. It has been used
successfully in the treatment of blood disorders and to strengthen the walls of
the veins.
Metaphysically, Selenite is an exceptional
tool for meditation. It can put one in touch with past or future lives by
providing visions during meditation. This is accomplished by rubbing it at the
onset of the meditation process. It also provides clarity of mind and expands
one’s awareness of self and environment. Selenite also assists in opening and
clearing the upper chakras and bridging them. With a whole list of health
benefits, it has been used to increase the life span and to promote muscular
flexibility.
Smokey Quartz can penetrate
and transform negative emotions and energy patterns. It dissolves energy fields
that have been generated from negative thoughts, anger or resentment. It further
works to dissolve effects, disorders and disease created by a previous problem.
Smokey Quartz is also used to lift barriers between the beta and alpha states of
mind so that if worries are pressing, it may be used to set them aside and clear
the mental channels. A good grounding stone.
Sunstone
opens and clears all seven chakras and provides a squeaky clean feel to the
aura. It promotes well-being and aliveness, bringing vibrancy and
radiating energy.
Tanzanite is among the
leaders for its metaphysical properties as well as for its beauty. A stone of
magic, it brings together all aspects of communication and psychic power,
allowing one to accurately communicate visions. Used at the crown chakra, it
produces visions of the higher spiritual realms and brings to the user the
revelations of the gods. The energy of Tanzanite acts as a spiraling force,
inviting protection and safety.
Metaphysically, Tiger Eye
carries vibrations of practicality and stability. It combines sharpness with
grounding. It is used to enhance the psychic abilities and the solar energy
promotes intuitive impressions. It helps eliminate the blues and brings optimism
and brightness to the user. It further helps to integrate and balance both
hemispheres of the brain to bring awareness to perception. Often best adapted to
earthy people.
Topaz is a power stone for attracting
prosperity due to the flow of both positive and receiving currents through the
crystal tips and faces. This links it to the forces of attraction and
manifestation. Also called the “crystal of potency” as it is used in
meditation and visualization. It helps one absorb that, which is needed by the
universe, prompting receptivity and a willingness to act.
Tourmaline promotes
self-confidence and acts to attract inspiration. It diminishes fear and is used
extensively for chakra and healing work as well as for stimulating balance
between the left and right brain processes. It has also been used as a teller
stone, providing insights during times of trouble to find who or what is the
cause of problems. Each of the colors of Tourmaline correspond to individual
chakra centers.
Metaphysically, Vanadinite
enhances contentment, evident from the very first contact. Very soothing and
comforting, it is also an excellent stone for meditative purposes. By conscious
direction it can be used to help empty the mind or to retrieve visions which
answer pre-defined questions. It aids in breathing disorders, including asthma
and lung congestion. Vanadinite also expedites the mental processes and promotes
thrift in spending of either physical or financial resources.
The laser wands are quite multifunctional in
use; when held, the constant source of brilliant white light contained within
the crystal surrounds the body and acts as a protective shield. The aura may be
felt to expand during use of the crystal to create a protective barrier. The
energy of the crystal is particularly well focused when directed through the
small termination and a great many healing techniques call for use of wands.
Wand crystals can also be used to cause one to fade into the background and
become unnoticed and “invisible” when and if so desired. The singing wand
crystals produce a clear sweet sound when touched together or to other crystals.
The spectacular color of
Zincite is the result of a naturally occurring fire that took place in a Polish
mine over 100 years ago. Other than for its beauty, Zincite is most sought after
because of the properties it carries to restore balance and energy to the lower
chakras. Electric currents carried through the body facilitate the removal of
energy blockages, thus increasing the physical life force, personal power and
will. It provides a sense of grounding and connection in addition to physical
energy, enhancing the initiative. It also brings together those of a like mind
and is used to improve the condition of the hair and skin.
A crystal may come to you as a gift or you may find it in a
shop or even online. Often, it is sound vibrations linked to the color of a
crystal that makes certain ones most appealing to you. Or, you may be looking
for a particular crystal because of its properties. Even when I don't have
